Studying the word of God, increases your faith in God. And increasing your faith in God leads to an enriched relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. And a life with Christ is fulfilling, victory and overcoming in Jesus' name. AMEN!

Acts 19 talks about when Paul went to Ephesus to preach the message of the good news to the Ephesians. He stayed there for about two years, mainly preaching the word of God, encouraging new converts to stay in faith, leading people to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and performing miracles in the name of Jesus.

By then, Paul had really grown in faith and the spirit of God was upon his life. As a result, God did remarkable miracles through Paul. The bible explains it in verse 12 as; “so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.” This is how powerful God made Paul. Friends, we serve a powerful God and if we avail ourselves and totally submit to him in faith, he will send his spirit upon us and surely, we shall also experience his power in greater ways in our lives.

As believers, if we avail ourselves and totally submit ourselves to the Almighty God, He will bless us with His Spirit and use us for His miracles in a way that cannot be fathomed by any human understanding.

Paul was one of the Jews who approved of the killings of the followers of Christ. But when God touched his heart and he obeyed; God used him in extraordinary ways. You may be reading this and may feel like you are far away from God. The truth is, it doesn’t matter how far away, you may be, the moment you turn and come to Jesus, he will welcome you, redeem you and restore you and above all give you a fresh start in life. Oh yes, he will; he is the destiny changer; dream maker; he is the way maker; he is the God our healer; he is the God our redeemer. And when we totally submit to him, and allow his word to work in us, he will bless us exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond what we can think of or imagine.

It doesn't matter how far away, you may have turned from God, the moment you turn and come to Jesus, he will welcome you, redeem you and restore you and above all give you a fresh start in life.

During Paul’s time in Ephesus, just like most of the places he had been, he had some opposition from the Jews. Some of them refused to accept the message of Christ and his resurrection, yet they still observed him performed all these miracles in the name of Jesus.

Having observed Paul closely, some Jews who refused his message about Christ, went around casting out evil spirits from people who were demon-possessed by invoking the name of Lord Jesus over them. The bible states it this way in verse 13 – 16, “………….. They will say, “In the name of the Jesus that Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” ……………… One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.”

Friends, God has given us authority over demons and the forces of darkness and every trouble the devil will send our way in the name of our Lord Jesus. However, if you do not believe and do not have a good connection with God, his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit then this authority will not work in you. And hence, you will be over-come by the devil and his demons. Like I always say, without God we are nothing, but with God we are everything. He is our source of strength and power. We can do all things through him. In him we can over-come life and over-come the world. On the other hand, without him in our life, you will be completely lost and defeated.

The bible says our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of the dark world. Hence, the need for every believer to develop a strong and a good relationship with God, otherwise you will be overpowered by these dark forces.

Someone may be reading this, and thinking you are always nice and good to people, so you should be automatically saved. But, friends, being nice alone cannot save you, we all need the power of Jesus Christ and his supernatural intervention in order to succeed in life.

Or maybe you’ve got this thought that I used to have that, if you don’t talk about the devil, he will also leave you alone. But that is a big NO. Once you call yourselves a believer, it doesn’t matter how old or young you are, the devil sees you as an enemy so, he will work tirelessly in order to overcome you. But thank God, he has made it possible for us to be over-comers in Christ Jesus. AMEN!
