Who is our enemy as believers? The devil, hence the need for every believer to be constant in our prayers which is our main warfare. Through constant and fervent prayers, we shall always fight the right battles and come out victoriously in Jesus' name.

Growing up in Ghana, I couldn’t help but notice how people used to treat their families whom they’ve discovered to be possessed with witchcraft, or they claim have attacked them spiritually. Some used to abandon such family members because they feel, if they are away from them, their spiritual attack on them might stop. On the other hand, others use to stop speaking to them and even ask their children to stay away from such families.

In fact, they are not to be blamed at all, sometimes some people have been through a lot of suffering which they’ve tried any means to put an end to, but to no avail. And then suddenly, they are been informed by one spiritualist or the other that this person is the cause of all your problems. Without thinking twice, their first action might probably be to avoid that fellow completely in their life.

However, that is not the right solution at all. That person whom they have claimed to be possessed with witchcraft and as such causing havoc in another’s life is as helpless as the person been attacked. Because the person on his or her own haven’t got any supernatural powers to attack someone. However, it is that evil spirit sent by the devil to live in that person and as such using him or her to destroy other people’s lives. Honestly, that person may be as unhappy as the one been attacked. In some cases, they do not like what the spirit is using them for and as such regret sometimes. Just as Jesus did when he came on earth, the right approach is to rebuke that spirit and cast it out of that person in the name of Jesus. In that case, both individuals will be free from the shackles of the devil.

Upon travelling to the UK, a lot of people I spoke to about God, mostly have got the idea that, every bad thing that has happened in their lives is from God. But that is a big lie from the devil. That is how the devil deceive mankind into turning their faces from God and the truth. As the bible says in John 10:10 that, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” The thief here is referring to the devil. His main aim is to destroy mankind, so if he can turn them away from the truth, then he can easily achieve his aim. But thanks be to the Almighty God for sending the spirit of truth (Holy Spirit) upon mankind and now, it is opening people’s eyes to the truth.

One thing that every believer, should be aware of is the fact that, the devil who is our adversary is a liar and a deceiver. And his ways always obstruct the truth. That’s why the bible calls him father of all lies in John 8:44. He will attack mankind and then he will blind them from the truth in such a way that they will start blaming their own or even God for the devil’s deeds in their lives.

Brethren, we live in a time that believers have to be very watchful and vigilant. As the bible says in 1 Peter 5:8, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” This is not the time for believers to relax at all, but to rise in faith and our worship to God and stand our grounds in fighting spiritual battles.

Friends, there is no other way to overcoming this mislead from the devil other than gaining an understanding of God’s knowledge and his power. And we can only achieve this, by constantly studying the word of God and understanding his power and might and his authority towards us believers. As the bible says in Hosea 4:6 that, “my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.”

The only way to gaining an understanding into God's knowledge and power, is by constantly studying His word.

It is my prayer that as believers, we spend more time with God by constantly praying and studying his word, to help us identify and overcome all the tricks of the devil and live a victorious life. AMEN!
