The word of God is like a seed, when planted in us, and watered with faith, grows to be very great. His word is life.

In the bible, Mark 4:30-32 says;

“Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”

You see the bible describes the word of God as a seed, and when planted and fed, grows into something very great. The same way, as believers, when we study the word of God, we plant it in us. After the seed has been planted, the way we can grow it is by feeding it with more of the word and watering it with our faith. And through that, God will grow us, bless us and take us to greater levels in life. Levels that we couldn’t have imagined or thought of.

The way we can grow the seed which is the word of God in is by feeding it with more and more of the word. Yes, the word of God is life!

That is how our God is, he is the God who exceeds our expectations. He is able to bless us exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond what we could ever think of or imagine according to his power that is at work in us. (Ephesians 3:20) If we study this bible verse critically, it says our God is able to bless us exceedingly, however, according to his power which is at work in us. And the only way to getting God’s power in us, is by constantly studying his word, meditating on it and doing what his word expects us to do. That is why the bible says, in Matthew 6:33 that, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Friends, our God wants us to excel in life, he wants us to grow in every area of our lives, he wants us to prosper, he wants us to experience his goodness in greater ways. The fact is, we cannot get complete happiness and success in any other way, apart from our Lord Jesus Christ. The bible says in John 15:5 that, “"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” The bible states it here clearly that, without our Lord Jesus, without God and without the Holy Spirit, we cannot achieve complete wholeness and success in life. He has given us everything we need to succeed in his word. Complete success involves happiness, peace, having all our needs fulfilled, safety, etc. And there is no other way to achieving all these in one go, other than through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Complete success comes from the Almighty God, so let us seek Him everyday, every hour, every minute and every second, and watch Him transform our lives for the best.

How then do we achieve complete happiness through God?

Firstly, study the word of God and apply it in your live.

For instance, what does the bible says about actions to take in times trouble, in times of sickness or even when you are happy? Well, the bible says in James 5:13-15 that, “Is anyone among you in trouble, let them pray. Is anyone among you happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.”

Again, the word of God says in Romans 10:13, “for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Therefore, what will you do, in the middle of crisis, when the pressures of life are pushing you to the wall, when it feels like problems are raging from every angle. Will you just sit down, worry, cry and watch the problem grow every day? No, what does the bible say? It says, call unto the name of our Almighty God and you will be saved. He is bigger than our problems, he is bigger than our troubles and he is even bigger than all our dreams. He can turn every situation around in a split second.

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:16) Yes, God is bigger than our problems. He is bigger than our dreams, He is bigger than anything we will ever encounter in life. Yes, we serve a mighty God.

Additionally, what action do you take, when you are getting discouraged in life? Should you just sit there and crumble in. No, the bible says in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through him who gives me strength” And as a result, we don’t give up at the sight of trouble, but keep fighting the good fight till we see his greatness in our lives. And, when God sees us pushing ahead in faith in the midst of troubles, it touches him and causes him to move things in our favour.

Not only these, the word of God is there as a guidance to direct and encourage us in every situation we go through in life. It all comes down to us studying it frequently, so we can get the word in us.

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)

Secondly, having faith, believing in God, believing in his son Jesus Christ and believing in the Holy Spirit. Also, believing that God has the power to do all things, and believing that he will do what we’ve asked him in prayers.

Faith is a very essential part of our lives as believers. For the bible says in Hebrew 11:6 that, “And without faith it is impossible to please God ……...” The question then is how we build our faith in God? Well, the bible says in Romans 10:17, “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”

When we read the bible and meditate on the words, it stays in our hearts. And as we think about the word all the time, it helps our faith to grow. Also, when we read about all these marvelous miracles our Lord Jesus did whiles he was on earth, and all the ones he did whilst he was in heaven through his apostles, it gives us the confidence that nothing is impossible for our God. Not forgetting all the ones our God did through the prophets Elijah, Elisha, Moses, etc. All these encourage us that, if we will come to God with all our burden, he will take them off and give us rest. And our Lord Jesus has promised us in a lot of verses that whatever we ask in his name he will do it. An example is, “John 14:13, “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the son.”

Hence, as believers, we don’t have to worry about our prayers getting answered at all, all we need to do is believe in the power of our most-high God and nothing will be impossible for us to achieve.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17) Let us make the word of God our pillar in life, our solid rock on which we stand, and we will never fall down. Yes, the word is the seed.

Thirdly, calling the word of God into our lives. The fact is, what we say with our mouths about ourselves, we are giving it the chance to happen. Why then, don’t we use our mouths to confess all the marvelous things our Lord God says about us in his word. For instance, the bible says, for we shall lend not borrow. (Deuteronomy 15:6) Hence, if the devil is using some hardships you are going through to cause you to settle and give up, you say this to that hardship, to that financial situation. And if you keep doing that, it touches the Almighty God to move and fulfill his word in your life. And hence, get you out of that financial problem or situation. Yes we serve a great God, we serve a generous God. He loves to give His children the best in life.

Again, the bible says in Isaiah 60: 1 that, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” Sometimes, in times of trouble, especially, when it has lasted for too long, the devil will come in and convince you to give up. Telling you things like, “this how your life ends”, etc. This when you rise above that discouraging thought and confess verses like this upon your life.

Friends, the word of God is there to grow us, mature us, cause us to excel in every area of our lives and guide us to live happy and victorious lives. It is my prayer therefore that, we take time to study the word, meditate on it day and night and allow it to grow in us, so we can experience the exceeding blessings of our Lord Jesus in our lives. And always remember Proverbs 4:18; “The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, it shines brighter and brighter. So, where you are now, is not the end of your story, it’s only a chapter in it. AMEN!

Proverbs 4:18; “The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, it shines brighter and brighter. So, where you are now, is not the end of your story, it’s only a chapter in it.
