TRUE SALVATION COMES FROM GOD.
In the bible during the times before Christ, we read about how some of the Israelites constantly practiced idol worshiping. Idolatry is one of the acts that the commandments strongly forbade them to do and still forbids us now. We also read about how God used his prophets to warn them several times against idolatry, yet they still went back into it over and over again. Throughout all theses, the Almighty God was still very good to them. Yes, believers, how lucky are we st serve a generous and a loving father, the Almighty God.
The same thing happened in the time of King Solomon. King Solomon started off as a king at a very young age. Just like his father, King David, he did a lot of things right with God. As a result, God blessed him with a lot of wisdom and knowledge. The evidence of this is the book of Proverbs. Almost all the wise sayings in the book of proverbs were from King Solomon. The Almighty God did marvelous works through him. Yes, the Almighty God spoke these words of wisdom through him. He and his father, David pleased God so much that, God was very happy and pleased with them and blessed them in return.
The Almighty God did not only bless Solomon with wisdom but also, with material wealth as well. Yes, His wealth was beyond every other person’s in his time and age. He was the wealthiest King in his time. What was that? It was the blessing of the Almighty God at work in His life. Oh yes, His blessings are irrevocable. The Almighty God blessed King Solomon and his father, King David, their ways pleased the Almighty God. Oh yes, happy are those whose Jehovah is their God. God promised King Solomon that his blessings will never leave him, if he continued to reverend him in all his life, and also does not involve in any form of idolatry. And yes, the most-high God always true to His words, blessed Solomon all of his life as a King, even when he disobeyed the Almighty God's commands, and married women from the towns they were not supposed to, the most-high God still kept His blessings on him. Oh what a mighty God we serve. Yes, His blessings indeed are irrevocable.
As mentioned earlier, Solomon couldn’t keep his part of the promise. He married women from nations that the Lord God forbade them to inter-marry with, because of their practice of idol worshiping. Unfortunately, these women led Solomon into idol worshiping, as such his heart was not fully for God. He even went as far as building shrines for the idols in Jerusalem. Yet still the most-high God did not take his blessings away but instead punished his successor who was his son instead. A God who never goes back on His word’s words, Halleluiah! Amen!
In our human minds, one would think that after all that God did for King Solomon, he would have continued to serve him wholeheartedly all his life like his father did. However, that is how the devil works, you can easily be drifted away from your relationship with God and as such being drawn into a lot of sin, without you being fully aware of it. By the time you realise, you would have gone too far without even realising it. Hence, the reason why, we must do our best to stay in connection with the Holy spirit, with the word of God all the time and with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Because this is the only way we can resist the devil and all his wiles and strategies.
The fact is, when the devil completely overcomes a person, he captures his soul and spirit. As a result, such a person is being pushed into sin, without him or her having any control over their actions. Hence, the reason why some people after committing a type of sin, they will regret deeply even to the extent of crying. However, you still see them going into the same sin repeatedly. Sometimes, when you are close to such a person, physically you feel that they are doing that on purpose. However, that is not the case at all. It is the devilish spirit, that has captured their soul and as such leading them into such acts.
Paul describes such a person as this, in Romans 7:14-25, “We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate, I do …………. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do – this I keep on doing. Now, if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. ………………… For in my inner being, I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!” Halleluiah! Amen!
These are people we find around us all the time, yes, our co-workers, our families, our friends, etc. It is always easy for us, as humans to judge people in such situations. Or even sometimes find them irritating especially when you are being affected by their sinful acts.
But the fact is, this is a person, who is completely lost to the devil and his wicked ways. In our human strength, we cannot bring that person out of that bondage, but with the power of the Almighty God, we can. Yes, as the bible says, what is impossible for us humans, it is possible for the Almighty God. Halleluiah! Hence the reason why Paul reassures believers in verse 25 that, there is a chance for such a soul to be saved. Halleluiah! Yes, believers, we can stand in prayers for the people around us and they will be saved. Yes, every yoke of the devil can be broken with the power of the Almighty God. So, yes, such a soul can be saved by the power of God, through our Lord Jesus Christ. Halleluiah!Amen! Thank God we are not left at the mercies of the devil and his wicked ways, and that every soul can be saved. It is up to us to avail ourselves to the Almighty God and we will be saved. Yes, let us run to the Almighty God and He will welcome us. Yes, we need to get closer and closer to God and hence grow spiritually to overcome all the wiles and strategies of the devil. Halleluiah! Amen!
As stated earlier, the best thing we can do for such a person, is to stand in faith and pray for them. And the bible says, the prayer offered in faith will set them free. Oh yes, a prayer of faith, will break every yoke of the devil and they will be free. Our Lord God will deliver them, through His son Jesus Christ. Amen!
As stated above, these are people we have around us every day; we have them as friends, as families, as colleagues, very close to us. We can’t just ignore them to continue to be lost. As believers, when God places such people in our lives, then it is our responsibility to pray for them, guide them and lead them to Christ who is our only true salvation. I know, sometimes it may be too hard, but when we pray to God for his strength, He will bless us with His immeasurable strength to carry us true. You see, our simple act of praying for a person can deliver them from the power of darkness into the light.
Therefore, instead of going around talking about your husband or your wife, you can intercede for them and they can be set free by the power of God. Again, instead of running around talking about that family member of yours, you can help them through prayers and God will set them free. The fact is complaining or talking about them behind their backs doesn’t solve the problem, you are only making the devil happy given him more power to continue to frustrate you through that person.
Friends, we have a responsibility not just for ourselves but also for everyone God places in our lives. The fact is, if we keep interceding for everyone like this, the devil will not get the chance to sow seeds of disunity and hatred among us. Instead, the love of God will continue to grow among us and hence we will live in peace and harmony with each other. Halleluiah! Amen!
Occasionally, we feel we have to wait for the problem to resurface itself before we do something about it. But no, that is not the case at all, we have to develop a habit of praying constantly for the people in our lives. And as the bible says, the fervent prayer of a righteous person touches God to work in our favour. Hence, prevent such havoc from happening to us and our families, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
It is my fervent prayer that we develop a habit of interceding for our friends and family and when we do, God will in turn bless us abundantly. Halleluiah! AMEN!
