WHOSE VOICE ARE YOU LISTENING TO?

Whose voice are you listening to? The voice of the Almighty God or the voice of the devil. Let us get closer and closer to the Almighty God, because with Him all things are possible.

In the bible, Genesis 2 and 3 talks about how God left Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden and how he commanded them to eat from every tree except for the tree of knowledge of good and evil. However, when God left them, the devil came in with his deceitful suggestions to counteract the instructions God has given them. Unfortunately, they listened to the voice of the devil and hence, disobeyed God and ate from the forbidden tree.

This is what happens in our lives most of the times. Sometimes, God will put a dream or a guidance in our lives and straight after, the devil will try to destroy that dream with thoughts of doubt, fear and all other negative thoughts to cancel God’s dream, purpose and guidance for our lives. This is when you need to stand firm and hold on to the first voice which is the voice of God. Besides doing anything possible to enrich your relationship with the Almighty God, because when His presence grows in your life, fear vanishes. Yes, with God, we can do all things. Halleluiah! Amen!

One significant thing that we should all know is that, in life there will always be two voices trying the fight for your attention in your thoughts; the voice of God and the voice of the devil. Our Lord God always feeds our minds with good and encouraging thoughts, the devil on the other hand, tries to feed us with discouraging, defeated thoughts.

God’s voice leads you to the truth, the devil’s voice leads you to deceit.

God’s voice leads you to freedom, the devils’ voice leads you to bondage.

God’s voice leads you to salvation, the devils voice leads you to condemnation.

God’s voice leads you to redemption and restoration, the devil’s voice leads you to destruction.

God’s voice leads you to faith, the devil’s voice leads you to doubt.

The list could go on and on showing us how good our God’s ways are, however, the question is, whose voice are you listening to?

Whose voice are you listening to? The voice of the Almighty God leads to faith, hope, freedom and peace or that of the devil, which leads to eternal destruction? The choice is ours to make. Let us run to God and we will be free forever. Everlasting peace in God. Amen!

The devil already knows he has no chance when God is involved in your life, as a result, he tries so hard to make his voice and his thoughts sound distinct in your thoughts. However, if you will stay calm and listen very well, you will always hear that still small voice of God; that voice of peace, that voice of joy, that voice of safety, that voice of wholeness, that voice of strength, that voice of power. And if you keep your thoughts on this voice, it will always overcome every negative thought the devil was trying to feed to you.

This is especially necessary in times of difficulty. During difficult times, when you are weighed down by the troubles of this world, your mind can be quite vulnerable and as such the devil tries to take advantage of these moments. He will do a lot of talking, trying his very best to pull you into condemnation and destruction. And it is not just the difficult moments but also everyday of our lives, hence the reason why it is necessary for us believers to take control of what we are dwelling our thoughts on, every day of our lives. The fact is, the more we think about something, the more we give it the chance to grow.

That voice telling you, “you are not good enough” is definitely the voice of the devil. Because, the bible which is the word God says in Philippians 4:13 that, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” This implies that, when we put God first in our lives, we can achieve everything we put our hearts and souls into.

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)

Again, that voice telling you, “you haven’t got the right personality.” It’s got to be from the devil, because God created all of us with the right personalities for the lives he has chosen for us. It is the devil’s way of putting people under pressure, so they always feel they have to behave in a certain way that will please people around them in order to fit in. One thing is, in the process of doing this, you put yourself under pressure and as a result might lose yourself. And the devil longs for these moments, he will then gradually bring in his thoughts of condemnation to pull you down completely. One thing is, God never makes mistakes, everyone one of us is great in our own unique ways.

That is why we don’t have to listen any voice of self-doubt. I know the devil will always try to chip it in, but as believers, we can always fight every negative thought off with the word of God. Besides, God made all of us in his own image. He gave us everything we needed for our dreams, careers, jobs and purposes in life. Halleluiah! Amen!

Also, there are a lot of negative thoughts the devil uses to distract believers in our worship to God. The devil will suggest to people through excuses not to pray, not to read their bibles and a lot more just to separate them from God. However, the God that we serve is a loving father, who always guide us and bring us back on track, when we go astray. He is a good God.

Yes, believers, we serve a big God. Yes, He is bigger than all the wiles and strategies of the devil to pull us astray. His loving hands are always stretched to pick us up whenever we go astray, hence our confidence, our joy and our peace, believers. We serve a great God!

Now to make it very practical, the devil will suggest to people to cheat on their partners. Straight away, you’ve got to know, that is from the devil and as such cancel that with the word of the Almighty God immediately. The trouble is, if you allow yourself to be pulled into mistakes by the devil, he will always come back to condemn you with such mistakes. And that is exactly how he works, very deceitful. That's why the bible says, he only came to steal, kill and to destroy, but our Lord Jesus Christ came so we may have life and have it abundantly. (John 10:10)

The list could go on and on, but as believers, God has given us the power to resist the devil in every way. That’s why the bible says in James 4:7 that; “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

It is my prayer that, we always learn to listen to the voice of God, so we can always stay and walk in his victory. In Jesus name, AMEN!
