In the bible, John 4:47-53 talks about a royal official whose son was sick and was close to death. The man not knowing what to do, heard the news that Jesus was in Galilee, one of the towns in his area. Upon hearing the news, the man rushed to Galilee in order to beg Jesus to heal his son.
When the man got to Jesus, he begged him to go over with him and heal his son who was dying. When he told Jesus the news, Jesus said something very interesting. The bible puts it this way; “Jesus replied, “Go, your son will live.”
The man left, believing in what Jesus has told him. And lo and behold, even before he got home, one of his servants met him on the way and told him the good news that his son is alive and healthy.
My point here is, this man could have doubted when Jesus asked him to go and that his son will live. Thinking about it, Jesus didn’t say I have healed your son, he didn’t say, I have prayed for your son and he is well, etc, he just simply asked him to go, and when he believed, his son got well and better.
Friends, our whole Christian life, depends on our faith in God. Believing that God has the power to turn all our situations around. As the bible says in Hebrew 11:6 that, for without faith, it is impossible to please God.” The bible also says, in 1 John 5: 4 that, “For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.”
Most of the time, when we find ourselves in situations that we do not know what the outcome will be, we tend to worry and stress ourselves. But the truth is, instead of worrying and stressing yourself about it, the best approach is to present it to God and hope in faith that he will do it for you.
Brethren, we serve a powerful God, who loves his children dearly, and who will do anything to keep them happy. However, sometimes God may allow us to through seasons of setbacks in life not to limit us, not to push us down, but to help prepare us and promote us into new seasons of our lives. Hence, the need for us to stay hopeful and faithful even in difficult times.
One significant thing is, God will not take something from his children, without replacing it with something better. The only reason why some people do not get to see the latter glory is that, they get discouraged and give up in the middle. That’s why our faith in God is very essential in our Christian life.
The fact is as a believer, you are in constant battle with the devil. The devil is trying any means to overcome you and stop you from shining and achieving your dreams. And the only way we can overcome is through our faith and believe in God. He is our place of refuge and safety. In him we are secure. His power supersedes every force that will try to stop us in life. Only he has the final say. He can give you breakthroughs and cause the right people to be good to you. He is the God our provider. He is the God of favor.
We can keep going on and on, but the truth is God is the only answer to true happiness and freedom in life. And if we put our complete faith in him, he will cause us to overcome every setback and live the abundant and victorious life that he has promised us. AMEN!
